Abstract

This study is based on the trends and practices in Pakistan relating to philanthropy of the top 25 giving companies identified through the Corporate Philanthropy Survey 2006. The focus of this inquiry has been more of an exploration into the trends, patterns and good practices of corporate philanthropy rather than an evaluation of the giving programmes.

This survey is a sequel to the Centre's earlier report 'Corporate Philanthropy in Pakistan; the case of public listed companies 2000-2003' and the updated survey for the years 2004 and 2005. The objective is to estimate the quantum and trends of philanthropy by PLCs and use rankings as a basis for the next Pakistan Corporate Philanthropy Awards (PCPA).
