PCP’s role in emergency times has been vital to facilitate the flow of philanthropy during such circumstances. PCP not only provides information, desk support and technical advice to CSOs, international donors, corporations and individual donors but also responds to emergency situations in Pakistan.
The last decade witnessed the Centre attracting attention of international grant-making organizations for guidance in identifying and scrutinizing credible CSOs for effective implementation of projects pertaining to relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the victims of 2005 earthquake, 2009 IDPs crises and 2010 & 2011 Flood disaster.
During devastating floods in 2010 and 2011:
In 2009 Rs. 1.6 million were generated and 900 displaced families were provided food and relief items. The PCP team made 5 visits to the IDPs camps.
